If you would like to help iACT through the donation of your time and effort, we’ll find a way to use your help! From helping with office work to assisting us as we clean our storage sheds, there’s something for you to do.
Let’s Get Started with iACT’s Volunteer Application
iACT For Refugees Volunteer Opportunities:
English Language Instruction (ELI): Join our compassionate community by supporting our talented English teachers as they help refugees thrive in their new Central Texas homes. Assist with in-person or virtual classes, offered at various times throughout the day. Let's build bridges through language and create brighter futures together.
Refugee Youth Mentoring: Our Youth Mentorship Program serves refugee clients aged 15-24 in Austin. Our clients have a variety of experiences and needs, ranging from learning English to getting a driver's license to applying for jobs. As a mentor, you will have the opportunity to step outside of your comfort zone and help your mentee work toward their goals. The program is ongoing and volunteers can begin at any time. Mentors are expected to visit their mentee once a week for a manageable commitment of ten weeks.
Summer iLearn: Help refugee youth learn English language reading, writing, and speaking during the summer at our iLearn Summer program. Assist with fun field trips around the city every Thursday.

Hands on Housing Volunteer Opportunities:
We are always in need of individual volunteers skilled in various types of home repair to help revitalize and provide critical health and safety repairs of iACT's clients’ homes. If you have the skills and some time on your hands, we’d appreciate your service!
Also, each year Hands on Housing has two major events: Raise the Roof and Spring Blitz, please check iACT's Event page and complete iACT's Volunteer Application to let us know you are interested in participating.
Handy Helper volunteers utilize their home repair skills to help elderly, disabled, and low-income homeowners in need of minor home repairs such as replacing door handles, replacing faucets, minor painting, replacing window panes, and minor carpentry. Projects can be completed any day of the week.

Red Bench Volunteer Opportunities:
Every month, iACT along with a partner organization, hosts a Red Bench Conversation. If you would like to help us set up for our Red Bench events, clean up afterward, or become an iACT Red Bench table host, please contact us. (Training does not obligate you to host but will deepen your experience as a participant. We frequently provide table host training and would love to have you!)
